This morning Microsoft changed some formatting in its Live Search results. This resulted in missing information from that engine in TopicCrunch results.
This has been fixed already, and you can download the update to TopicCrunch, the deep searcher now <<< Please click the link just given. This update is free to all past purchasers of TopicCrunch and those who have not yet completed a free trial.

Note: TopicCrunch is the web search utility that searches on up to four search phrases, and then consolidates the results from the three main search engines, producing a list with no duplicate entries.

We check TopicCrunch against all three major search engines daily.On Saturday April 19th 2008, TopicCrunch started recording no hits for any search on MSN.This is because the SERPs (search engine result pages) had changed the part of their format that TopicCrunch uses to extract the results.
TopicCrunch has now been brought into line with the new format and an updated installer version is available at the usual place:
TopicCrunch is at present showing “nf” (not found) for all TopicCrunch searches at Yahoo!
This results from a change to the internal format of their search results. We are working on this and will release a revised version of TopicCrunch as soon as possible (we hope within a day or so).
This update will be free to all purchasers of TopicCrunch.
We expect something similar to happen with Google results soon. “Google Universal” is a new way of integrating search results from the many Google properties into one search results page. When this reaches us and if it affects TopicCrunch, we will adjust it again.
If you have an example of a Google search that fails with TopicCrunch, please do the same search manually in your browser, save the source of the page (View > Source; File > Save As) and email it to our support address.
If you use TopicCrunch you may want to know if it will work in Vista. Yes, it does. Our deep searching software has been tested on Vista and found to work normally.
Topicscape Pro and Topicscape Lite are under test with Vista. It’s fun to see the 3D mindmapping window move into Vista’s own 3D environment. It will take a few weeks to complete our full test plan and make any necessary adjustments.
Yesterday (Jan. 11th ‘07) Yahoo changed the format of their search engine results page (SERP), so TopicCrunch was reporting “nf” (not found) for all Yahoo searches. This has now been adjusted and there’s a new version of TopicCrunch on-line for download. All users can just install that on top of their existing copy and the license will be picked up automatically. If you uninstall TopicCrunch first, you may have to get your license from the original email and install it again. 30-day free trial users can install it too, but sorry, it won’t extend the trial period.
