Topicscape is a great complementary addition to MindManager. It can work alongside this software and extend your mindmapping into one of the most powerful forms of information organization: Visual landscapes.

If you already organize files in a MindManager map, or your maps sometimes grow too large, or you often have to break maps into smaller maps, you can import MindManager .mmap files into Topicscape, where they will be shown as 3D landscapes. You can join those multi-maps together and, being able to fly and zoom around the scene makes the large map usable again. If you are cautious at first of working in 3D, you can stay in 2D, but with the map on a swinging wall, like Cooliris™.

If mindmaps imported have files or web pages linked to them, these will appear in Topicscape as occurrences, inside topics. And in Topicscape, each topic can hold many more files, notes or web pages.

Topicscape allows a topic to have more than one parent so you can move to a concept map topology, offering greater flexibility in organizing files, information and reference material.

(a) Open MindManager®
(b) From the Tools ribbon at the right-hand end, select About MindManager (in older versions, go to the Help menu, select About MindManager).
(c) Hold down the Alt key and press the 'Print Screen' key (sometimes 'PrntScrn') on your keyboard. It will place an image of the About panel on the Windows clipboard ready for you to paste.
(d) Open Paint, the image software supplied with Windows (or other image editing software). Paint is usually found here:
Start > All programs > Accessories > Paint
Paste the image of the screen (Ctrl+V) into the Paint window. Edit out up to 4 characters of the serial number if you wish, save the file as a JPEG file (.jpg).
(e) Browse to the file in the above form and include it
