Zooming is an often-used way of examining the Map or 'Scape, so there are several variants to help you find what you're looking for. We think the best zooming method is Quickzoom (see above) but sometimes, another topic gets in the way of the view from the zoomed position. Then, you might want to try one of these:

  • Move the mouse wheel backwards and forwards: Zooms in towards the point in your Map or 'Scape window where the mouse cursor is. Unless it is in the center of the screen, you will need to track the object as it moves. If the mouse pointer is outside the Topicscape window, no zoom takes place. There is a customization setting that allows you to reverse the functions of these: Tools menu | Options | Flight Control | Customize | Invert mouse wheel zoom direction.
  • the + and - keys on the keyboard's number pad.
  • the Enlarger (see next article): This allows a jump to zoom in once an area of interest has been located.
